An issue should be raised here. I feel that there is an unintentional misunderstanding (and misusage) of the new "Language Variant" feature.
We have 27 English to Arabic entries, distributed as follows: Language variants: Not specified (18) Egyptian (3) Saudi (1) Standard-Arabian (3) Syrian (1) Tunisian (1)
While in fact, ALL 27 entries are written in Standard-Arabian variant.
I'm wondering whether there will be more than one Arabic winner for this contest (i.e a winner for each Arabic variant)? In this case, entries that are not exactly brilliant will make their way to winning just due to the lack of competition. If not, then is the purpose of specifying the language variant just to take the minor variant differences into account when rating specific entries?
