Hi! I am facing a big problem here with a customer coming with A4 cut page scans of A0 file diagrams in autocad. I had suggested to look around and find some SW-equipment using which he would be able to convert all those large diagrams into editable .pdf files. Doing OCR on Autocad is a big headache, these are very fine lines and the print is some time below 4 pica. All helping suggestions are much appreciated. Brandis

Autodesk DWG TrueView 2009 is a free viewer for DWG files, although the Autodesk site requires an annoying registration. Seems to me that you will lose less time working on the original files, if the customer is willing to send them to you, than to try to explain what you'd like them to try.

Autodesk Design Review (free) might help. AFAIK, it won't save files as .pdf files but you should be able to edit text. If you combine Autodesk Design Review with the free PrimoPDF converter you should be able to "print" the .dwg file to a .pdf file.

Hi! I shall be contacting the client on tuesday or wednesday and shall certainly post the result. The point is on one side he wants the project be finished on-site or off-site he is just trying to give us A4 parts of A0, which makes the things complicated. Brandis

HI! I had explained the customer of the involved technicality and the related trouble, where and how there could be a confusion in the target document. He kept silent and temporarily suspended the project with a view to have some one on-site to do that job. I thank you all for the contribution and if I hear anything positive I shall certainly keep you posted. Brandis
