今天翻译一篇医药文章,其中有一句话 “Keep out of reach of children”。

We have quite a stable flow of silimar (sic) projects all year round, among others. If you could use more work, and meet the above-mentioned conditions, place a bid and leave your portfolio. Address the technicality concern above, do not copy and paste your stereotype message here. High priced translators, this is not the place for you. You're better off doing your own thing. Our clients receive the best prices on the net and very high quality results....so you must be willing to forgo getting rich overnight and in turn be satisfied with a stream of work that pays the bills and buys you and your family a nice night on the town a couple times a week.
Thanks for taking time to read this post. I appreciate you and hope to work with you soon."

Translation of Obama's Victory Speech Nov 7, 2008

I don’t know who made this Chinese version of Obama’s victory speech, but, personally, I think the Chinese translation is very good.

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

The reference of " the arc of history" Nov 7, 2008

Yueyin,

http://opinion.latimes.com/opinionla/2008/11/echoes-of-king.html

"It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long, by so many, to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve ... to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day."

"The arc of history." It is a direct reference to one of King's most riveting lines, spoken in Montgomery, Alabama after the long and dangerous march from Selma in March, 1965. King said he knew people were asking how long it would take to achieve justice. "How long?" he asked, over and over, making listeners desperate for an answer -- and then he supplied the answer.

"How long? Not long. Because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." It was a refrain King came to use often, sometimes referring to the "arc of history," sometimes to the "arc of the moral universe."

A CNN report Feb 16, 2009

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/books/02/15/china.publishing/index.html

For many Chinese, literary dreams go online

If it weren't for the Internet, Murong Xuecun might still be working as a sales manager at a car company in the southern Chinese city of Chengdu. That is what he was doing when he started writing his first novel on his office's online bulletin board system back in 2001.

Week by week when he got home from work, Murong would post new pieces to a story that painted a bleak yet honest picture of modern urban life in the city where he lived. It contained tales about sex, love, gambling and drugs and became so popular that it soon appeared on numerous other online forums.

Today the 35-year-old is considered one of the most famous authors to have emerged in contemporary China. His debut work, "Leave Me Alone: A novel of Chengdu," has been read by millions of Chinese "netizens" -- steady Internet users -- and adapted for film and television and translated into German, French and English.
