Hi, For some reason I am having problems with my CAT tool converting the translation project in xliff format into doc format. Could someone possibly help me. The doc file that is produced will not open due to an error. Any help is much appreciated. | | | iperbole10 Italy Local time: 10:28 French to Italian + ... convert xliff | May 11, 2015 |

Thanks everyone, I was able to resolve the problem in the end. It's so annoying when you run into technical difficulties with a deadline approaching! Hopefully the agency will understand. I uploaded the xliff file for the proofreader and then later was able to upload it in doc format. | |

Sorry all, It was Cafetran. For some reason when I exported the document, the doc file would not work due to an error. I checked for missing tags. I'm not sure what the problem was but it has never happened before. It was very frustrating as it meant delivering late. | | | 2nl (X) Netherlands Local time: 10:28 Entitled to support | May 12, 2015 |

DOC is an old format. It isn't supported by CafeTran. You also cannot export an XLIFF that was created with another CAT tool. (I guess that no other CAT tool can do this.) It's like reconstructing a raisin bread, while you have only the raisins available:

If the raisins are the translatable content, then the skeleton is the rest of the ingredients. What's missing here is the pastrycook, which would be the original CAT tool used to create the XLIFF: only he has the skills necessary to put the pieces back together. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » urgent help needed converting xliff to doc Anycount & Translation Office 3000 | Translation Office 3000
