Keyboard shortcuts are nice, but sometimes you want to call a macro, app, file or folder from an icon palette. Here is my CafeTran icon bar, as proof of concept:

The Keyboard Maestro macro "Search" (with Google) is called by a script, that is added to the icon bar. You can even customize the icon image.
