But what is the purpose of the "Use wildcards" checkbox for Search?

Restore standard screen layout Oct 21, 2019

I do not use Across very often, but I find that pressing an incorrect key sometimes causes the screen layout to change. In my case, I have lost the Search window. How can I restore the standard layout?

What regards the layout, press the Restore UI layout button (a square button divided into two halves: white top and mustard-green bottom).
Alternatively, press View > Windows > Search Center (a pane at the bottom)
or View > Toolbars > Search (a Toolbar icon)
depending on which Search you want to restore.
